Welcome everybody! It has been 11 weeks, since this segment started and this week my dolly week was mainly occupied with looking into future releases. Unfortunately, there is still no info on future Pullip or Pullip family releases from Groove. I am comforting myself with the presence of Optical Alice right next to me and am still hoping that there will finally be a Sunday post with an exciting Pullip release announcement!
On the Neo-Blythe side many amazing things happened. Gracey Chantilly is now on pre-order on Junie Moon and I have to say that my opinion on her almost completely changed after seeing her in more casual clothes. That being said, there were also two announcements for new Neo-Blythes in June and July.
In June Joanna Gentiana will grace us with her presence, while we have to wait until July, when Home Sweet Home will probably blow us away. Joanna Gentiana looks very cute, if you like traditional folk themes. They are actually not my cup of tea, since I live in a country, where folksy things are quite common. And I like my dolls to have a different style than the things I know.
Home Sweet Home’s promo-drawing actually blew me away and let poor Gracey be led to the sidetracks. Her description also sounds so wonderful and I love dolls with earrings! I also love her hat and the print on her dress, including a pink poodle! And who does not love special eyechips?! I simply cannot wait to see pictures of her and getting teased by them!
When it comes to Azone dolls, I was completely unlucky this year. They are quite hard to get right now, but maybe I will finally get lucky, when it comes to Meow Meow a la Mode‘s Lycee, who is such a beauty! Since Yuzuha also showed up at a doll show, I know for sure that Lycee is my favorite of the bunch. Her pre-order should start on May 9th and she should be released at the end of the month or beginning of June.
I only just released Pullip Princess Serenity from her box on Thursday, since I wanted to tidy up my shelf for her super long white dress. Little did I realize, how incredibly long her hair is as well. And her hair is as yellow as Pikachu’s fur! Pullip Laura also got released from her plastic cover. I could not take seeing her like that anymore. In the process I managed to pull out her left leg under her knee. Now dilettante Theri knows a lot more about Pullip’s legs (after having a tiny heart attack).
All those years I was oblivious to the meaning of TL;DR. I kind of read over it all of the time, which can easily happen, when English is not your first language. Suddenly my fiancé suggested to write a small TL;DR at the end of my doll reviews. What an epiphany it was! Embarassingly, this was not even the most oblivious moment of my week: I also rented and paid for a movie on Amazon that I already had seen before. After watching it for a second time, I knew, why I had totally forgotten about its existence.
There might be something really exciting coming up next week, but I am trying not to get too impatient. I will keep you posted! 😉
Thank you so much for reading! Are you eyeing some of the new girls?
Theri
It’s so funny – I love Joanna Gentiana because I live in the city! Nothing folksy here! I so hope I can see all the new dolls in Japan next month.
I have one custom Pullip face up and one custom Blythe in process. I’m so excited to see what next week brings for you!!
Aaah, I hope, you’ll see all of the new cuties too! They are always way lovelier in person-so excited for you! 😀
In fact, I am also a city girl, but my parents are from the country and I used to spend a lot of time with my grandparents. Still, the tourism board loves to sell folksy things in my city, which is why I am still surrounded by it. >< My next big "thing" is my first ever custom Pullip, but I might need to be patient for a little while longer. Although it will be totally worth it! Cannot wait so see your new family members! <3
