Pullip Cassie und Pullip Callie are 2016 Creator’s Label line releases that were designed by doll artists Happydolly/Memento. Approaching to write about those two seemed a bit intimidating, so I decided to start with a post comparing both of their face ups, before each of these cuties will get their own reviews. I have written about Groove Pullip twins before, Pullips Clara and Chloi, but those two are sporting different colour schemes, while Cassie and Callie actually seem to share the same taste in make up. But don’t be fooled: There are some distinct differences, which do play a big role in creating their sweet expressions!
Both sisters have lovely medium brown eyebrows. Cassie’s brows are straighter than Callie`s and appear a little fuller due to the shading. Callie’s eyebrows start out thicker and have a very groomed shape. The creators mentioned in an interview with Tokyo Otaku Mode that Pullip Callie is supposed to be the older sister and I think that you can even tell from her more ladylike and sophisticated brow shape. Their eye make up is the same and I immediately have to emphasize, how much I love their medium brown fluttery lower lashes! They look especially nice against the dusk pink eyeliner on the lower water line and inner corners of the eye. Cassie and Callie are wearing very dark brown eyeliner with a kitten flick along their upper lash line and their upper water line is very dark brown as well. The twins do not wear a lot of eyeshadow; their crease is emphasized in what almost seems like a reddish brown, while there is only a hint of dark brown eyeshadow on the lids, which gets darker at the outer ends.
Their eyechips are basically the same, although one pair of them (whose, we will never know) is mirrored, so you can pose them next to each other, as if they are actually looking at each other! The eyechips themselves have a layered look with a tiny black pupil in the middle, followed by the biggest dark brown circle and finally by a medium brown. In between of these, there are also white and yellow dots in various sizes. Their eyechips kind of remind me of little comic fawns; I love their effect! They make them so wide eyed and bushy tailed!
Cassie and Callie are also sharing the same blushing and contour: You will find the light brown contour in the dimples of their chins, although Callie’s contour is wider and darker than Cassie’s! Both are wearing lots of strawberry pink blush on their cheeks and only a hint of blush at the jawline, inner eyes and middle of the forehead.
Another big difference in their make up, are Cassie and Callie’s lips! First of all, their lip colours are completely different: Cassie’s lip colour is a glossy strawberry red, while I would describe Callie’s more as strawberry pink! Both girls have this beautiful heart shape in the middle of their lips, which have more pigment than the rest. Cassie’s upper lip as well as her lower lip are bigger than her older sister’s. What I definitely have to mention too, is the fact that all contemporary store bought Pullip dolls are all sporting the same face mold and do not come carved. However, there are some ways to change up a stock Pullip’s appearance and the way that these dolls’ lips are glazed with the gap between upper and lower lip, Cassie and Callie very much do look like one of a kind custom girls!
I hope that this comparison post has been helpful to you; both girls are almost sold out on Pullip Style, so I decided that I should better hurry and help fellow Pullip lovers to make up their minds! 🙂 Cassie and Callie are some of my favourite Pullips and I love that they have so many differences in between so many similarities!
Who is your favourite out of these two? Could you imagine them in your Pullip collection?
Thank you so much for reading!
