The Weasley family is a such an important safety net in the world of protagonist Harry Potter, there is no way that Ron and Ginny would not make an appearance in Mattel’s line of ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets‘ dolls, which were made with the actors of 2002’s major motion picture in mind. Due to Ron and Ginny Weasley being both Gryffindors, just like Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, many of their features and accessories are the same, which is why I will feature them together in this post. Harry and Hermione’s reviews will also linked be linked down below.
Ron Weasley
Ron Weasley’s face was moulded after actor Rupert Grint and Mattel did such a great job! He has a slightly mischievous grin on his face, which is just too cute and true to character. He has blue eyes and, like the rest of the Weasley family, ginger hair and matching eyebrows. He does not have actual hair, but his hair is moulded plastic and looks very nice!
Each doll comes with his/her own wand and in Ron’s case, it is the wand he inherited from his brother Charlie Weasley that he had to fix after he and Harry got attacked by the Whomping Willow at the story’s beginning.
Now onto the features and accessories that are the same like Harry Potter’s:
- his hands
- his Gryffindor cloak
- his Gryffindor jumper
- his trousers
- his black shoes
- his articulation
Ginny Weasley
Ron’s sister Ginny is so gorgeous! I think that she resembles the grown up Bonnie Wright even more than the child actress that she was sixteen years ago. While Harry’s and Ron’s doll have blue eyes as well, hers are the most striking. She also has light pink lips and ginger eyebrows.
As a Weasley, she too has ginger hair with a little bit of auburn strands in the mix. Just like with Hermione, I wish that her hair was fuller. My Ginny unfortunately has two bald spots and I will have to trim her hair a bit.
She does come with her own individual wand, but there are many similarities to Hermione Granger, which are:
- her hands
- her Gryffindor cloak
- her Gryffindor jumper
- her pleated skirt
- her grey knee socks
- her black Mary-Jane shoes
- her articulation
I know, I am only repeating myself, when saying that I am so happy with this doll release. They are an amazing walk down memory lane, make me very happy and are fun to photograph!
You can click here for Harry’s review and if you have not read Hermione’s review yet, click here to make up for it! 😉 Albus Dumbledore will be reviewed next and after that only Minerva McGonagall will be next. Without giving away too much: Mattel did not lose their spark, when designing and producing the Hogwarts teachers!
What are your thoughts on the Weasley siblings? And which couple is your favourite: Harry and Ginny or Ron and Hermione?
Thank you so much for reading!
Theri
I think Ron is done very good, that face with that soft halfsmile, in character. But sorry about the molded hair, it looks like it is a loose ‘ cap’ Do you think it could be pried loose so that he could be given a wig with real hair?
Hello Janna! ❤💕
You could probably pry it loose, but I am not completely sure, if it wouldn’t damage his face up too much, especially his right eyebrow area!
Best wishes, Theri
