My Dolly Week #36: My Week of Utena!

Happy Sunday, everybody! Halloween is so close! Only two days of October are left and it is going to be quite hard for me to let go of everything spooky…although to be completely honest, my dollies do not actually qualify as scary! πŸ˜‰

Mayu & Ruri looking for candy!Mayu in her Halloween costume!Mayu and Ruri are trying hard to get their hands on the biggest amount of Halloween candy they can find. If they succeed, will be revealed on October 31st on my Instagram! πŸ˜€ I also already heard them talking about their costumes for next year. So we might have to keep that in mind for our future purchases. >< Sometimes I feel like they absolutely have me wrapped around their tiny plastic fingers!

Pullip Utena TenjoA really lovely costume would be one of the upcoming Revolutionary Girl Utena outfits sets, which I am still not done hyping about. This week more than ever because I actually watched all 39 episodes of the anime in the last seven days. It helped that there were quite a lot of recap episodes and many scenes were repetitive, which is nothing new for the Magical Girl genre. You might have guessed that I got very emotionally involved in it and am now looking forward to the upcoming Utena Pullip even more. Anthy is kind of making me sad in the style she is coming in. I would have to customize her to remind me of a happier part of the story. Thankfully, my MVP is little monkey Chu Chu, who comes with Anthy’s school uniform – I have absolutely no debates, whether to get this set or not! πŸ˜€ Continue reading My Dolly Week #36: My Week of Utena!

My Dolly Week #35: The Countdown to Halloween Has Begun!

Pullip Wednesday with CinnamorollHanako and GigiWelcome to another Sunday post on Komonogatari! The 35th one to be precise, which is a tiny little bit unbelievable for me, but also makes me very happy! Another thing that is super fun for me is my Halloween countdown, which you can follow everyday on my Instagram account since Friday. I have been preparing everything for about two weeks and am pretty happy to be now able to share it little by little, day by day with all of you.

Ruri-chan as SherlockAlthough I have this Halloween series going down on Instagram, I will still have my regular posts on Komonogatari. My plan is it to stick to my current schedule of posting on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. I am super duper looking forward to showing you all of my dollies’ Halloween outfits and hope that you will also enjoy my rhymes. πŸ˜‰

While the weather is getting colder, I pretty much clothed my whole collection in warmer clothes, so please look forward towards lots of layering! And speaking of new outfits: Groove announced their second collaboration with the anime Revolutionary Girl Utena in the form of two new sets for their Outfit Selection line featuring Utena and Anthy’s (school) uniforms. Can I just say that I really love Anthy’s uniform? It is so super cute that I am definitely going to pick it up. The turquoise collar and skirt in combination with the puffy sleeves of the blouse will look incredible not just on Anthy, but also on Pullips you already have in your collection! These sets are going to be released in Japan in January and can I just say that I am also really hyped that Groove is finally releasing more outfits for our dollies?!

What was your dolly week like?

Thank you so much for reading!

My Dolly Week #34: Meet My Mouse Minnie!

Welcome to my 34th post of My Dolly Week, which signals the end of a rather strange week with lots of turbulences and weird feelings. Why weird feelings?! I have been in the dolly hobby now for a little bit over a year. There are so many things, I still know nothing about and am still learning each week. Sometimes this leads to mistakes on my part, which feel just terrible and I can only count myself lucky that I have found some super lovely people, who still have my back and support me.

Pullip Iris MintOn a lighter note, this little girl above has been cheering me up with her colorful and soothing nature. Her official name is Iris Mint and she is a full custom by Charon Dolls, whose custom Pullips are simply delightful! My nickname for Iris Mint is Minnie, which I think suits her sweet face perfectly. I want to dedicate a whole post to her in the upcoming days, so please stay tuned. πŸ˜‰

Cute Mayu is here to help!As a fact, Minnie and Mayu have been my little helpers for a spooky project, I have been working on lately. It will hopefully be cute and fun. If everything turns out the way I want it to, I will be able to announce it next week! During preparations I was re-organizing my whole Pullip collection, which I should have known before, was a total mess! >< And speaking of even messier things: My face-up skills are so bad! I am by no means getting discouraged, but right now I am basically ‘creating’ a face-up, while testing out the materials, and afterwards immediately remove it. I have read on several blogs that you have to have a lot of practice and patience before getting any better. Maybe one day in the future, I will be able to share a face-up as a creative product of mine next to photography and writing, but until then I could not justify shocking you with my try-outs. πŸ˜‰ Continue reading My Dolly Week #34: Meet My Mouse Minnie!

My Dolly Week #33: Names and Harmonia Bloom!

Remember last week, when I was talking about how much I love October? I still love it, but this post is probably on the edge of delirious, since I caught a cold, when I was out watching foliage during my work break. πŸ˜€ But now let’s talk about dolls and not the fact that I need to introduce more vitamins to my diet!

Pullip MarieWhen it comes to names, I actually enjoy changing my dolls’ names to add more to their personality and to give myself more inspiration, when it comes to styling and photography. Pullip Marie though, even after I customized her, still perfectly feels like a Marie. I was debating several other names, but Marie is Marie and that’s that! πŸ˜€ She is such a cool girl, I was really surprised, how much she is able to pull off black clothes.

Ki-chan being cute.Naming the Pullips from the Le Petit Prince series was so difficult! If a doll is already called ‘The Fox‘ and ‘The Rose‘ your creativity gets killed and so Pullip The Rose is now called Bara, which is the Japanese word for rose and short version for the Czech name Barbora. Pullip The Fox is Ki-chan, which is short for kitsune, Japanese for fox. I really hope that I will not run out of ideas soon. I also cannot imagine calling a Pullip Shion, like Groove’s upcoming realease, since Shion is the name of an anime figure out of a horror story called Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. Ugh, having an actual Shion in my dolly family would probably drive me just as crazy as the Shion in the anime! >< Creepy stuff, but perfect for Halloween and recommended by yours truly-but honestly, I would never watch it again! Once is more than enough!

A post shared by Harmoniabloom (@harmoniabloom) on

Have you heard about Harmonia Bloom, the new collections of dolls, which is going to be released by Good Smile Company, home of the Nendoroids, early next year?! I have kind of mixed feelings, but am kind of intrigued by the blonde cutie above, whose expression speaks most to me. The reason, why I am suddenly writing about them, is the fact that they got featured quite a bit in my Twitter feed, since there is an article in the newest issue of Dollybird, which hopefully means that we will be getting more information about their release soon.

Now I would like to know, if you name your dolls and what do you think about the Harmonia Bloom line! Are you excited or is another collection more up your alley?

Thank you so much for reading!

My Dolly Week #32: Is it Halloween already?!

Welcome everybody at the very beginning of my favorite month: October! The air feels fresh and crisp with the excitement of Halloween being only a few weeks away. Unfortunately, Halloween is not really a thing in Central Europe and is pretty much looked down on as imported holiday-which has never stopped me to absolutely love it! πŸ˜€ Pumpkins, black cats, witches, bats and ghosts are seriously my thing. This is why I am so thankful to be finally able to share my love for Halloween this year through blogging and taking pictures. Etsy also is kind of a dangerous place for me at the moment…but I am digressing. ><

Wednesday and Tsukimi, my Pullip Laura und Alura.Last week everyday life started to set in, which also means me making plans for the future of Komonogatari and trying to work on a schedule, which I will be able to fulfill on a weekly basis. I am not completely sure yet, which days besides Sunday will become regular posting days, but if there is something, which I am not lacking anything of, it is blogging material with lots of different projects, hauls and reviews. I might have amazing news in the following week, but I do not want to jinx it right now. Please be patient for a little while longer! <3

Minka, my Pullip Cheshire Cat.No secret is that I am gathering all of the tools that I will be needing to customize my MIO kits. Right now, I am still missing some acrylic colors and sanding paper, but I finally need to conquer my fear of failing and start these projects. I have some concepts in my mind, but I know that the really troubling part for me is to decide on one. Basically, if I have finished on one concept of a doll that would add beautifully to my collection, the next one follows immediately. >< Continue reading My Dolly Week #32: Is it Halloween already?!

My Dolly Week #31: Reunited with Munchkins!

Finally being on time, I can share how good it feels to be surounded by my darling dollies again! Even though I was having so, so much fun, I could not be happier to be reunited with all of my munchkins and introduce them to Poppy and Sayaka. And I have to admit: It is a little overwhelming to have so many opportunities to take pictures again, even though the big window in our hotel was awesome!

Pullip Marie with the White Rabbit.I really hope that you will enjoy my shopping guide, which went online early today and which I was looking forward to writing in months! πŸ™‚ I am so happy to have finished this major passion project of mine! There will be more Japan posts, since I want to write them, while everything is still fresh in my memory!

Promo picture of the Revolutionary Girl Utena Pullips.Pullip AnthyPullip UtenaWhich brings me to the load of new announcements that I have and want to write about! The most exciting one is definitely how beautiful Groove’s upcoming Pullips in collaboration with anime series Revolutionary Girl Utena are! I need to catch up the series to have an excuse for acquiring these beauties! πŸ˜‰ I really love that Groove did their eye makeup in a typical anime-style, as they did with the Rose of Versailles and Madoka Magica dolls! They will be released in December, which means that they will probably be the last Pullip releases of 2017. Time flies crazily fast! Continue reading My Dolly Week #31: Reunited with Munchkins!

My Dolly Week #30: Summarizing my 2nd Week in Japan!

Pullip Summer Purezza and Pullip PrunellaWelcome to the latest Dolly Week yet, which gives me the chance to catch up on my second week in Japan, after I was crashing super hard due to jet-lag. I cannot remember ever being this tired and having my bio-rhythm destroyed after my previous Japan travels. Also I was trying to make the best out of the last days there and tried not to get super sad because I love Tokyo so much! Tomorrow I will post a full on Dolly Week post with all new announcements and how I plan to work through all of the material, I have gathered while being away.

Poison Girls Ruri and MayuThis leads me to say that the second week of my honeymoon passed way too quickly. I managed to daily update my Instagram account (all posts will be listed after the jump), but it just got super hard to concentrate on the writing of this Dolly Week’s post, which I want to apologize myself for. The same applies to the answering of comments.

Munchkins Ruri and MayuWhen it comes to dolly purchases, I have been pretty good by mostly buying the three missing obitsu bodies for my type-3 girls and some more shoes. Because, if there is one thing a dolly collector always seems to be missing, are a proper pair of shoes to fit a certain outfit. I really wanted to take Pullip Eternal Sailor Moon home with me, but resisted, since it is a way more sensible option to get her through Western retailers. I did had to put in all of my restraint, though – like for all the gorgeous Azone dolls in the Azone International Store, but my luggage space simply said ‘no’! (Ask my hubby, how the packing on the last night went…haha!)

I will now go to work on writing my post on the Junie Moon store in Shinjuku and also hope to see everybody tomorrow in Dolly Week #31! πŸ˜‰

Thank you so much for reading!

My Dolly Week #29: Happy in Japan!

Welcome to Dolly Week #29, which is released a few hours too late because time in Japan flies. I love being here so much, there really are no words. It is my fourth time being in Tokyo and it still does not get old or less exciting. Especially, when you are a dolly person!
Pullip Summer PurezzaLast week was a whirlwind. We travelled more than 24 hours to arrive in Ikebukuro on Tuesday night and thanks to my amazing husband our first adventures on Wednesday were mostly dolly related. This is how Miss Poppy was welcomed into my Pullip family on the first day. She is a Pullip Summer Purezza and I simply could not help myself, when I saw her sitting NRFB on the shelf. Now I think the reason, why I instantly liked her so much, is that she reminds me of Groove’s upcoming Belle release. Do you agree?
Pullip Summer Purezza on the beachPoppy also was my first Pullip ever to come to the beach, when we went to Kamakura. I did not think a lot about her outfit, when I bought her, but her yellow shorts and bandeau top, which can be covered by an emerald green top, are really nice quality and won against the test of time! (Her necklace was another story, but more about this issue in her upcoming review.)
Pullip Summer Purezza on the beachUntil right now, I have checked out several dolly places so far, but I have to say that Akihabara’s Radio Kaikan building wins every time, when it comes to availability of different dolls and accessories. I definitely have to go back this week, also due to the fact that Groove announced the release date of Pullip Eternal Sailor Moon, which will be this Wednesday, the 13th of September!
Pullip PrunellaAnother girl that was on my mind a lot during the week, was Pullip Prunella. My biggest problem with her was the look of her wig (which I am even less fond of now that she is unboxed), but thanks to the internet and mostly instagram, I was completely blown away with how pretty her eyebrows are and how good she looks in different wigs. I still need a name for her, but I am leaning towards a Japanese one.
I need to stop writing now because the bustle of a city like Tokyo is making every day so fun and exciting that I am super exhausted every evening. ><
Thank you so much for reading!

My Dolly Week #28: Just Married & Official Japan Diary Announcement!!

The big day was yesterday! Yay! πŸ™‚ It was a lovely wedding and day to spend with our family and friends. We were engaged for a little bit less than two years now and finally being married still feels surreal to me. I completely crashed today after coming home and slept for a few hours, which means that it is finally time for the 28th Dolly Week!

Pullip Ruri chilling on pictures from Japan 2012.Another exciting thing is that I can finally announce the start of my Japan diary on Instagram next week! I will also try and update Komonogatari (100% not missing my Sunday posts), but if you want your daily dose of Theri, you are welcome to check out my insta posts! πŸ˜‰ My cutie mouse Ruri in the picture above is lying in a sea of pictures from our first Japan journey in 2012. I am beyond happy to be able to visit this wonderful place again. Is it too clichΓ© to say that my heart sings?! πŸ˜€ I also want to thank everybody here on my blog, who congratulated me on the wedding. Thank you so, so much; you have made me super happy!

My Pullip NinaPullip Nina arrived in the middle of very stressful finishing wedding touches and managed to brighten up my days immensely with her lovely face and orange toned make-up. Everything about her sweet 11 year-old face and stock surprised me! I especially love her little 2006 flip phone, which opens, closes and even comes with its own kawaii phone charm. I call my Nina Rola after the Japanese fashion model I really like.

Last week we also got two very lovely announcements for fans of Groove dolls, who love to make their own dolls: It is now official that Dal Mocha MIO kits are going to hit the stores soon! Equally great is the fact that Pullip Style started their pre-order for a bundle of 5 Pullip Mocha MIO kits. These 5 packs will be available in a limited number before single Pullip Mocha kits will be available in a couple of weeks. I won’t take the plunge for 5 kits at once, but am definitely having my heart set on at least two sets.

Sleeping Pullip Princess Serenity.I am going to finish up on my computer now to pack my suitcase! Have a lovely week, a lovely start of fall and school everyone! I hope to see you all soon!

My Dolly Week #27: MIO Dreams Came True!

Welcome, dear readers! We have now passed the six months mark and I want to express my gratitude to everybody, who likes to read my musings and likes my pictures! There will be a lot more fun content in the future, I promise! πŸ˜‰

Theodora in front of 2 MIO kits.Last week was super exciting: My fiancΓ© (who will be my husband in less than a week, time flies) gave me two MIO kits for my birthday. They are natural (skin toned) ones, which just got restocked on Pullipstyle. Even though they had to ship them all the way to Europe, everything went so nice and smoothly that I am a complete Pullipstyle convert now! Also, I cannot wait to paint my own face-ups. I will try to accept, how much I am going to suck at first, but I am sure, it is going to be a lot of fun! πŸ˜€ There is probably no time at all to start my projects before my honeymoon, but I already am working on my two new future girls’ concepts and hope to be able to translate it from paper into cute Pullips.

Stock photo of Pullip Nina.Equally exciting is the fact that 2006’s Pullip Nina will join my collection. I was checking listings on her for a while, but this week the prize for a NRFB doll suddenly dropped and now she is my next grail girl. I am so looking forward to her. She is already in customs and will arrive in a day or two. πŸ˜€ Hopefully, she will be okay and of course I am going to share my joy with all of you! πŸ˜‰ Sharing dolly joy is so wonderful and my favorite thing about this hobby: It is so lovely to be excited for each other!

Hattie in front of a stream.Hattie with donkey Apollo. On Friday we took Miss Hattie on a trip to my friend’s hometown, where we were able to meet her donkey Apollo and her sister’s French bulldog Emma. We spent the whole day playing and I was positively exhausted. I took lots of pictures of Hattie and enjoyed my first experience of outside dolly photography. It is so cute to fit a Pullip into scenery, which I am absolutely positive will also be the case with different dollies. That’s why I also want to take some pictures in Japan with some new dolly friends that might cross my path. So please look forward to my future photographs! πŸ˜€ Continue reading My Dolly Week #27: MIO Dreams Came True!
