Review: ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ Harry Potter Doll by Mattel

The whole 'Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets' doll gang by Mattel!Harry NRFBWatching the Harry Potter films in the cinema, were always important dates in my childhood, which continued throughout my adolescence and were completed, when society categorized me as an adult. Even though I will always prefer the books of J. K. Rowling’s enormously famous fantasy saga about a young wizard fighting for the good, the films and their cast will always hold a special place in my heart! Now, sixteen years after the original release of ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets‘, Mattel decided to release a new line of six dolls, modelled after the characters appearing in the story. These characters are fan favorites Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Ginny Weasley, as well as headmaster Albus Dumbledore and professor Minerva McGonagall. I bought the whole set from Amazon and will start their reviews today with Mr. Harry Potter himself! Continue reading Review: ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’ Harry Potter Doll by Mattel

Mei’s Musings #1: My Profile / Life as a Smart Doll!

Hi, it’s Mei!

I have been wondering for a while, when my segment on Komonogatari would finally kick off and I am happy to say: The time has come!

Mei, Smart Doll Melody in all her beauty!I am a Smart Doll Melody, my name is Mei and I am 25 years old. I moved from Japan to Europe in late April and it took me some time to properly get adjusted. If you are already familiar with this blog, you will know that there are mainly dolls with a scale of 1/6 in this house, which makes me stick out a lot, since I am literally way taller than rest. That’s right, my scale is 1/3 and I am especially proud of my long legs! 😉

Theri wants to write a proper review about me, but in Mei’s Musings I want to share my favourite things with you, whether it be media or lifestyle. It is going to be a lot of fun! Continue reading Mei’s Musings #1: My Profile / Life as a Smart Doll!

My Dolly Week #68: A Bouquet of Pullips!

Here we are, another week went by and there is no complaining on my side, since the last seven days were filled with enough dolly content to fill my post with!

Claire & Choux, a bouquet of Pullips!Sisters, forever united!I turned 28 years old on Thursday and my husband managed to majorly surprise me by taking the day off. This way we could spend the hottest day of the year (literally, not trying to sound conceited) together and get to know these two little girls above: Claire and Choux, who both have been created by Thai artist Kitasin Doll House on Etsy. He gave the girls such sweet expressions that I named them after some of my favourite French pastries; Claire after éclairs and Choux after cream puffs. (And also: I knew that I would use this plant pot from Ikea for my doll photography one day, don’t ever let your spouse convince you otherwise! Ihihihi!) My Little Pony 35th Anniversary Rainbow Collection: Skydancer, Sunlight & Moonstone

My anniversary ponies! To celebrate the 35th birthday of My Little Pony, Hasbro released six replicas of their original first generation rainbow ponies. When it comes to My Little Pony, I prefer the first generation by far to any other (the contemporary ponies in the stores right now are already the fourth generation) because they remind me of my childhood. I only ever had two baby ponies, which let me stay in love with their original designs and let’s me cherish these original looking ponies as something truly special. I had to order my ponies from French retailer FNAC because they were only released in selected European countries. They are supposed to hit the US later this year, while the already in the US released anniversary earth ponies are supposed to be released in Europe around October. My Dolly Week #67: Summer Holiday Edition!

I fell down this summer’s extremely hot rabbit hole. Right now, as all of Europe and so many other parts of the world are suffering from the heat, I got lazy and could not stand sitting in front of the computer. But good news: As it turns out, my fan was hidden behind some boxes with Christmas stuff and I need to share so many novelties with you that I cannot wait!

My cutest Ruri on vacation!Ruri-chan has helped me a lot to get out of my summer funk and to enjoy my staycation with dressing up in summery clothes and enjoying frozen treats. While I prefer frozen grapes nowadays, Ruri loves kawaii parfaits to stay cool! Continue reading My Dolly Week #67: Summer Holiday Edition!

My Dolly Week #66: Let’s Catch Up!

Welcome, everybody! It has been a while and I would like to catch up with you all! At the end of April life knocked me down and even though I tried my best at first, I could not roll with the punches or better said, could not keep up with my writing and photography. My personal life had to become my priority, which is why I can say now that I am feeling way better. I have not completely arrived in my normal everyday to day life yet, but there is enough place in my mindset for my dolls now, which I am immensely thankful for. After all, you need the things you are passionate for to feel like yourself!

Getting some cuddles with Disney cuties! In the following days I am going to share my new dolly friends on my Instagram (click here!), before preparing a big blog post starring my newbies and also an update with my thoughts on upcoming doll releases. Spoiler: I need to seriously save up some money! >< Oh, and I got some ponies! XD I did not do too much damage, but there is a post coming up and the pictures have already been shot.

I really, really appreciate that you are back! Writing this short update, makes me realize how much I was longing for this moment to get back to blogging again!

Thank you so, so much for reading!

Theri

My Dolly Week #65: Happy Birthday, Ruri chan!

Happy Birthday to Ruri!Welcome to another ‘Dolly Week’ post on Komonogatari: Time just flies during these warm and sunny weeks! Last Saturday it has actually been one year since my lovely Ruri by Poison Girl’s Dolls joined my doll family. She was my first custom doll ever and I feel so lucky to have her! When friends and acquaintances ask me about my dolls, I tell them that it is all about fantasy and creativity. If you really love a doll, she (or he) is going to develop a personality. In Ruri’s case, she is pretty much my collection’s mascot and sweetheart. She means a lot to me!

Ruri’s outfit was made by Petite Creayations! Continue reading My Dolly Week #65: Happy Birthday, Ruri chan!
