Qposket: Rapunzel (Special Coloring vol. 3)

I sometimes wonder, what I would be collecting, if dolls weren’t my priority. Although I am pretty sure that I would have lots of figures from Qposket, since they strike a lot of strings, when it comes to my favorite things. I love that they are very dolly-looking and so far they have done wonderful collaborations with Sailor Moon, One Piece and are now constantly releasing new or re-colored figures of Disney Princesses. On my last trip to Japan I finally picked up some figures myself and the first girl, who is getting her review, is Rapunzel from the Special Coloring vol. 3 series. These figures are meant to be prizes from game centers, but I prefer to buy them in secondhand stores, since I am super bad at the crane games! If a figure is pretty new and can still be won in the arcades, the prices are pretty nice. Although it definitely is a good idea to compare prices, since they can vary in huge amounts. If a figure has already vanished from the arcades, be prepared to pay a lot more for it, if it is your absolute priority. Luckily, Miss Rapunzel was a recent release and I got her for 1790 Yen, which was the cheapest I could find her at!

Qposket RapunzelThe thing I love most about Qposket figures, is how absolutely dainty they are. Even though my Rapunzel is part of the ‘bigger’ line, they are still only about 2/3 of your usual anime figures. Due to their big eyes, I can definitely see the often mentioned resemblance to Blythe dolls and Rapunzel’s are a beautiful shiny sea green. Next to her cute small lips, her face is the absolute cutest! The arch of her eyebrows makes her look super curious, which is very true to character and as a big fan of blushy cheeks, I cannot complain either. My Dolly Week #36: My Week of Utena!

Happy Sunday, everybody! Halloween is so close! Only two days of October are left and it is going to be quite hard for me to let go of everything spooky…although to be completely honest, my dollies do not actually qualify as scary! 😉

Mayu & Ruri looking for candy!Mayu in her Halloween costume!Mayu and Ruri are trying hard to get their hands on the biggest amount of Halloween candy they can find. If they succeed, will be revealed on October 31st on my Instagram! 😀 I also already heard them talking about their costumes for next year. So we might have to keep that in mind for our future purchases. >< Sometimes I feel like they absolutely have me wrapped around their tiny plastic fingers!

Pullip Utena TenjoA really lovely costume would be one of the upcoming Revolutionary Girl Utena outfits sets, which I am still not done hyping about. This week more than ever because I actually watched all 39 episodes of the anime in the last seven days. It helped that there were quite a lot of recap episodes and many scenes were repetitive, which is nothing new for the Magical Girl genre. You might have guessed that I got very emotionally involved in it and am now looking forward to the upcoming Utena Pullip even more. Anthy is kind of making me sad in the style she is coming in. I would have to customize her to remind me of a happier part of the story. Thankfully, my MVP is little monkey Chu Chu, who comes with Anthy’s school uniform – I have absolutely no debates, whether to get this set or not! 😀 Continue reading My Dolly Week #36: My Week of Utena!

Review: Pullip Outfit Selection Valletta Set

Outfit Selection Valletta SetI have never been to Valletta myself, but at least I get to show you Groove Inc.’s Valletta set from their Outfit Selection line. My model for this post is Felicia my Pullip Optical Alice, whose complexion looks beautiful in dark navy and red. The main optic of this set is a preppy school uniform that fits a Pullip’s type-4 body like a glove. It includes a headband, a blazer, a blouse, a skirt, kneesocks and shoes. Basically, everything you need for a cute look to play with! Continue reading Review: Pullip Outfit Selection Valletta Set

One Piece Halloween Gashapon

My whole collection! The actual current gashapon machines. It has been a while, since I wrote about anything One Piece related, which is one of my favorite manga and anime. I first discovered a One Piece Halloween gashapon series in Japan in 2015 and I could not help myself, but fall in love with Luffy’s figure. I just think that he is the cutest with this big Jack-o’-lantern on his head. Getting him from a capsule machine was next to impossible, but after getting lots of devil fruit keychains (which I am not collecting, by the way) I finally got him from a machine on the last day of our trip in front of the Shounen Jump Store in Tokyo Station.

Luffy 2015 GashaponFrom the back!Luffy 2017 GashaponLittle did I know that in the following years similar Halloween Luffys were going to be released. Last year there were figures for your mobile phone in the gashapon machines and this year, the keychains were back! 2017’s Luffy is basically no different from 2015 with the minor differences of Luffy’s skin looking not as grey, wearing dark red pants instead of blue ones and having his eyes closed. Those figures are so cute, hanging with sunken shoulders like fruit! 😀 Continue reading One Piece Halloween Gashapon

My Dolly Week #35: The Countdown to Halloween Has Begun!

Pullip Wednesday with CinnamorollHanako and GigiWelcome to another Sunday post on Komonogatari! The 35th one to be precise, which is a tiny little bit unbelievable for me, but also makes me very happy! Another thing that is super fun for me is my Halloween countdown, which you can follow everyday on my Instagram account since Friday. I have been preparing everything for about two weeks and am pretty happy to be now able to share it little by little, day by day with all of you.

Ruri-chan as SherlockAlthough I have this Halloween series going down on Instagram, I will still have my regular posts on Komonogatari. My plan is it to stick to my current schedule of posting on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. I am super duper looking forward to showing you all of my dollies’ Halloween outfits and hope that you will also enjoy my rhymes. 😉

While the weather is getting colder, I pretty much clothed my whole collection in warmer clothes, so please look forward towards lots of layering! And speaking of new outfits: Groove announced their second collaboration with the anime Revolutionary Girl Utena in the form of two new sets for their Outfit Selection line featuring Utena and Anthy’s (school) uniforms. Can I just say that I really love Anthy’s uniform? It is so super cute that I am definitely going to pick it up. The turquoise collar and skirt in combination with the puffy sleeves of the blouse will look incredible not just on Anthy, but also on Pullips you already have in your collection! These sets are going to be released in Japan in January and can I just say that I am also really hyped that Groove is finally releasing more outfits for our dollies?!

What was your dolly week like?

Thank you so much for reading!

Meet Iris Mint by Charon Dolls!

Iris Mint is a child of spring! She is a full custom Pullip by Charon Dolls and was created for the Omocha Crush Tea Party in London last May. She immediately caught my eye, since I am loving all things pastel and mint, but unfortunately I did not have the funds for her at the time and tried to let her go in my mind. That I am still super lucky to now be able to call her part of my collection must have been destiny! 😀

Iris Mint from Charon DollsIris Mint from Charon DollsIf you are familiar with Charon’s work, you will already know that she creates her Pullips after certain themes. The name Iris Mint says it all: We are talking about the prettiest minty iris flower ever! My favorite make-up point are the actual iris blossoms, which Iris Mint is rocking on her lower lashline and on her eyelids on a base of matte mint. Her eyeshadow is a lighter mint with a pearly sheen in the inner and a pastel lilac in the outer corners. The transition of the shades is flawless. For the eyeliner Charon chose a dark brownish aubergine with the cutest little curling flick at the outer corners. To complete the look with a special pop of color, Iris Mint is wearing a dash of hot pink in the inner corners of her eyes. The hot pink works so phenomenally well; Minnie (that’s my nickname for her) is an accumulation of happy colors! To complement her stylish look, Charon picked out deep indigo blue eyechips with purple shimmer from Lullaby for Dolls. These eyechips are simply perfect for giving her gaze a certain depth and curiosity! Have you noticed Minnie’s nostrils?! I love them so much! Continue reading Meet Iris Mint by Charon Dolls!

My (Halloween) Pokémon Center Haul 2017

My most anticipated Pokémon Center release is their yearly Halloween collection. This year’s collection had the simple name Halloween Time and I really loved to see it in person, since it was brand new at the beginning of September. Being the Pokémon fan that I am, I also managed to get some lovely merchandise from previous collections.

Halloween Time Plush

Halloween Pikachu PlushHalloween Pikachu PlushHalloween Pikachu PlushHalloween Pikachu PlushI have a lot of Pikachu plushies and try to stay clear of them for most of the time. Along came this kawaii trick-or-treater in a ghost costume. What I love the most about him, is the fact that he is sticking out his tongue, a feature I had not seen before on a Pikachu plush. And his tongue is even shiny, as are the pink cheeks on his costume’s face. Speaking of his costume: It is out of thin white polyester with a satiny sheen and wrinkles easily. It has a hole in the back for Pikachu’s tail, which is sewn onto his back. The face on the costume’s front has a blue and a green felt button for eyes, while the rest is stitched on. Lifting his costume, you will see shiny pumpkin-themed pants out of velvet with lots of ruffles. They are sewn to his belly. But one of my most favorite things ever, is Pikachu’s plushy Jack-o’-lantern basket with some yummy treats out of felt inside. I feel so lucky to have him! 😀

Popplio Halloween PlushHalloween Popplio PlushHalloween Popplio PlushHalloween Popplio PlushThe second plush I want to show you, is one of a handful of mascot plush keychains that were released as well. It is my first Popplio plush ever and even my first plush of the new starters from the Sun and Moon generation. The feature I could not help, but fall in love with, is his adorable Jack-o’-lantern out of felt as the tip of his nose. He is also wearing a special velvet Halloween cape, which reminds me of Pikachu’s pants. Isn’t this Popplio just super special?! Continue reading My (Halloween) Pokémon Center Haul 2017

My Dolly Week #34: Meet My Mouse Minnie!

Welcome to my 34th post of My Dolly Week, which signals the end of a rather strange week with lots of turbulences and weird feelings. Why weird feelings?! I have been in the dolly hobby now for a little bit over a year. There are so many things, I still know nothing about and am still learning each week. Sometimes this leads to mistakes on my part, which feel just terrible and I can only count myself lucky that I have found some super lovely people, who still have my back and support me.

Pullip Iris MintOn a lighter note, this little girl above has been cheering me up with her colorful and soothing nature. Her official name is Iris Mint and she is a full custom by Charon Dolls, whose custom Pullips are simply delightful! My nickname for Iris Mint is Minnie, which I think suits her sweet face perfectly. I want to dedicate a whole post to her in the upcoming days, so please stay tuned. 😉

Cute Mayu is here to help!As a fact, Minnie and Mayu have been my little helpers for a spooky project, I have been working on lately. It will hopefully be cute and fun. If everything turns out the way I want it to, I will be able to announce it next week! During preparations I was re-organizing my whole Pullip collection, which I should have known before, was a total mess! >< And speaking of even messier things: My face-up skills are so bad! I am by no means getting discouraged, but right now I am basically ‘creating’ a face-up, while testing out the materials, and afterwards immediately remove it. I have read on several blogs that you have to have a lot of practice and patience before getting any better. Maybe one day in the future, I will be able to share a face-up as a creative product of mine next to photography and writing, but until then I could not justify shocking you with my try-outs. 😉 Continue reading My Dolly Week #34: Meet My Mouse Minnie!

More Perfect Gashapon For Your Dolls!

Are you ready for more gashapon that are perfect for your dolls and for your (in my case imaginary) doll house?! Then let’s begin right away! 😉

Camera Keyrings

Charlotte with an oldschool camera.Back of gashapon camera.Gashapon cameras.Gashapon Cameras.I was so happy, when I found these! These keyrings (the actual keyrings can be super easily removed) came in two different designs with tons of different color variations. The first design imitates an oldschool camera, which looks pretty cool. But I had to play three times until I got the modern looking DSLR, which I really wanted for my dolls to have. Both kinds light up by pressing a button in accordance with a super fake sounding shutter noise. From my experience, I only saw this machine once and it sold out pretty quickly. Also the sound and light effect is already broken on one camera and pretty weak on another, which let’s me guess that they are pretty old. So get on it as long as you still can!

Re-ment: Little Twin Stars ‘Starry Sky Bakery’

Momo, my Pullip Kiyomi with Little Twin Stars Re-mentsThe outside of the box.It has been a while, since I got a whole set from Re-ment, but this adorable set starring Little Twin Stars from Sanrio and its typical color scheme of pastels just spoke to me. I honestly cannot wait to show you each box separately because these are just too cute to not write about them. Continue reading Re-ment: Little Twin Stars ‘Starry Sky Bakery’
