Some Pullip just steal your heart right away. Pullip Nana-chan is one of my biggest favorites that, in my opinion, belongs into every Pullip or even doll collection. I might also have to mention that cats are my favorite animals and this just added another reason to my long list, why Pullip Nana-chan is simply amazing. Nana, which is number seven in Japanese, is a collaboration doll with singer Mi-chan and Silver Butterfly. Nana-chan is designed with Mi-chan’s actual cat Nana-chan in mind. Mi-chan also got his own Taeyang doll. Silver Butterfly designed the clothes. She was released in 2014. Continue reading Review: Pullip Nana-chan
My Dolly Week #5
Another seven days have passed and it is time again for my weekly segment, where I like to ramble about dolly- and toy-related things. There were some quite interesting news this week, when Groove posted again about their Disney Cinderella collaboration and some online-stores started their pre-orders. Even though I am not eager to add her to my collection, this is great for collectors (Disney or Pullip) that want her. She will be out in Japan in April. Continue reading My Dolly Week #5
Review: Pullip Creator’s Label Galene
Pullip Galene is a Creator’s Label release from 2012. Mitsubachi@BabyBee created her face-up and Silver Butterfly her stock-outfit. The meaning behing her name is galena/blue lead, which explains the soft colors of Galene’s overall look. Out of all the Pullip that were sold-out, when I finally started collecting, Galene initially wandered on top of my list of grails. I missed out on her at least a few times, when I finally saw that the price of a listing on ebay had been significantly reduced. And this is how a brand-new Pullip Galene found her way into my collection. Continue reading Review: Pullip Creator’s Label Galene
Tokidoki Blind Boxes: Donutella and her sweet friends
The Italian brand Tokidoki has had quite some collaborations with Pullip in the past, but I still have to get my first Tokidoki-Pullip in the future. In the meantime, I discovered that Tokidoki also sells blind boxes with adorable content. I ordered three blind boxes from the series Donutella and her sweet friends and while I started to take pictures; my adorable Pullip Alura snuck into the shot. She insisted on being my assistent, while being very persistent! Continue reading Tokidoki Blind Boxes: Donutella and her sweet friends
My Dolly Week #4
Another Sunday and time for another Dolly Week, where I talk about all the doll- and sometimes toy-related things I did in the last week. First of all: The secret to Optical Alice‘s head bow has finally been lifted thanks to Angela fom Omocha Crush’s review on YouTube. Finally I was able to clip it on to her head, where it will stay for a long time now because you have to use a lot of pressure against her forehead, which was a pain mentally. Why would you want to use pressure with an object out of metal against your doll’s forehead?! I am not the biggest fan. At least it looks cute! Continue reading My Dolly Week #4
Review: Pullip Classical Alice
What Pullip was the first you ever set eyes on? Mine was Classical Alice. I remember her from a tiny stock-photo on Amazon.co.jp, popping up in my recommendations. I did not know what a Pullip was back then, but I thought that she was the most incredibly beautiful doll I ever saw. (Imagine me, when I found out that Pullips can move their eyes side to side. What a revelation of endless possibilities!) It was during a time, when I had just stopped collecting Monster High dolls because the new releases weren’t my cup of tea anymore and there was also self-induced pressure to grow up. (Because all of those collectibles out there are for children-pure logic!) So I kept Classical Alice on my wishlist for several years and silently watched Groove release the Sailor Moon Series, while denying myself the fact how desperately I wanted to get into Pullip-collecting. Continue reading Review: Pullip Classical Alice
Review: Pullip Creator’s Label My Melody HEN-NAKO Ver.
Pullip My Melody HEN-NAKO was the first Pullip release in 2016. She came out in January as a new Creator’s Label doll and a collaboration with Sanrio, who is mostly known for characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, etc. In 2007 there even was a Pullip Hello Kitty and in 2008 the original Pullip My Melody released, but this time Groove asked well-known creator mitsubachi@BabyBee (who also worked on Pullips Seila, Galene, Kühn, Laura and Alura) to reinterpret My Melody’s character in her own way in 2016. This My Melody also wears the name HEN-NAKO, which is Japanese for “strange child”. HEN-NAKO is a character that mitsubachi@BabyBee created herself and in an awesome interview with The Dolly Insider, she mentions that she was inspired by HEN-NAKO’s and My Melody’s similarities to design My Melody HEN-NAKO Ver., who despite her quite unusual features has gotten hard to find as of the writing of this post. Continue reading Review: Pullip Creator’s Label My Melody HEN-NAKO Ver.
My Dolly Week #3
Another week has past and I welcome you to the third post of my weekly segment, where I like to ramble on about all dolly-related things. This week I wrote reviews about Ufo A Go-Go, my first Neo-Blythe ever, and Pullip Marie, the latest collaboration with Angelic Pretty.
Review: Pullip Marie by Angelic Pretty
Pullip Marie is a collaboration doll with Japanese lolita fashion brand Angelic Pretty to celebrate the label’s 15th anniversary. For Pullip it is the third release with Angelic Pretty, Pullip Sfoglia being the first in 2009 and Pullip Prupate the second in 2011. Marie was released in Japan in September 2016 and is the princess in my collection. Continue reading Review: Pullip Marie by Angelic Pretty
Review: Neo-Blythe Ufo A Go-Go
Ufo A Go-Go is a recent Neo-Blythe release and the first Blythe in my collection. I started collecting Pullips with Alice du Jardin Mint and so it is not a big surprise that I was drawn to Ufo A Go-Gos minty hair. She is supposed to be an alien that works in space, which explains her awesome and funky outfit. She was released in Japan in December 2016 and I cannot imagine that she will be the last Blythe to grace my home. Continue reading Review: Neo-Blythe Ufo A Go-Go
