My Dolly Week #49: Introducing Sencha!

Welcome to the last Dolly Week post of January 2018! When looking at January so far, it feels like so many dolly related things happened that one month feels way too short. >< I also have lots of content for my Tuesday posts lined up, which means lots of cute things in the future! Yaaay! 🙂

Sencha by Poison GirlThe first girl to join my doll family in 2018 is Sencha, a girl whose beautiful face-up was done by Nina’s Dolls. I feel so lucky to have her because I love how Nina gives her Pullips tear ducts and her carving work on the nose, lips and philtrum. It is a very ethereal look. I don’t want to talk too much about Sencha now, since I still want to continue to give every girl her own post in 2018, but she definitely has a goddess of spring vibe. I am so excited! My Dolly Week #48: Pullip Rides!

Minnie and her Barbie vespaA fresh Sunday, a fresh Dolly Week! This week allowed me to finally get back into taking pictures and to work more on my blog. Plus my 2017 review finally went up, which was a surprisingly difficult post to write. Probably because it’s hard to put a whole year in a nutshell and not to go too much into detail. That being said, 2018 has been a quite ambivalent ride so far. For 21 days a lot of strange and unpleasant things have happened in lieu with me getting over them, which marks this time as very important for my personal growth. And at the end of the day, I still can come back to my dolls and Komonogatari to enjoy the lightness of being!

One more portrait of Minnie! In my childhood I was a big Barbie fan and my collection in my parents’ house counts about 30 Barbie and Barbie family dolls. Barbie accessories for Pullips can be (as I had to bitterly learn) a hit and miss, but a clear hit is Minnie’s pink and yellow vespa, which has the perfect size! This week I managed only to do a portrait shot, since Minnie was always in danger of eating the floor, even though I had bought some fishing line and wire. Your girl simply does not know how to properly use them yet to at least visually defy gravity. There are so many adventures I want Minnie to go on, so I will work harder! Komonogatari’s 2017 Review!

I always feel weird, when there is no proper review before or right after a new year begins. This blog will turn one year old at the end of February, which marks 2017 as its most important year, since starting new things is always the biggest step to take. Many wonderful things happened this year and I am happy to share them with you!

Luise, my Pullip LupinusPullip Customizing

One year ago I did not have any clue about customizing my Pullips. Changing eyechips was a terrifying thought and I did not get the appeal of re-wigging, even though I detected some quality issues with certain stock wigs. I did however start to change them out of their stock clothes, mainly because I wanted my Pullip Sailor Neptune not to be battle ready all of the time and to be able to relax with the other girls. (Imagine all of your dolls wearing long lolita-type dresses and then there is Sailor Neptune right next to them in a mini skirt and bare legs.) As soon as I had discovered Etsy, a new world opened up with that many creators of doll clothes and accessories around the world, there are truly limitless possibilities to get creative!

My Dolly Week #44: Christmas Festivities and Their Consequences!

Welcome to the 44th Dolly Week and let me tell you: Celebrating with my family and all of my dolls swallowed all of my energy! I am still recovering. Especially my dolls look like the sweetest cuties, but they are such party animals in real life! I am a bit afraid of what New Year’s Eve will look like! Yikes! 😀 Furthermore, I am working through the holidays this year and I was so tired yesterday that I completely overslept. Thankfully, I did not get up to late, but you can imagine that I am not the best version of myself right now! >< But(!): I am SO excited to make more dolly content! It is a bit weird to me that I am not uploading daily anymore on my Instagram, but I still have some pictures up my sleeve and want to do a nice photoshoot for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day!

My Poison Girls Mayu, Rise & RuriOn Christmas Eve I wanted to share this picture of my Poison Girl cuties, who are wearing some of my favorite outfits and Mayu and Ruri are carrying Christmas handbags from La Prinfresa. I simply love Rudolph and the little Christmas tree. Their quality is out of this world and the details are simply so nice! I will use them every year from now on and I also saw online that they look so nice as ornaments on dolly sized trees! If that does not sound like a good investment, I truly do not know, what is! 😉 Continue reading My Dolly Week #44: Christmas Festivities and Their Consequences!

My Dolly Week #43: A New Batch of Twins!

Pullip Cassie & Pullip CalliePullip Cassie & Pullip CallieIt’s one week before Christmas and the air is feeling festive, while the days are getting shorter. Last week I shared my final dolly additions of the year on my Instagram: Pullip Callie and Pullip Cassie from Groove’s Creator’s Label line. They are collaborations with doll artists Happydolly/Memento and as kawaii as can be. Callie and Cassie are supposed to be twin sisters, so their face ups are super similar. Their biggest difference, in my opinion, lies in the shape of their lips. At first I only wanted to get one sister, but as you probably know, I am a weak soul. This is how these cuties are already the third pair of sisters in my collection after Clara and Chloi, Laura and Alura. Last week both of them were put into the ‘Last Chance’ section of Pullip Style, which means that they are not awaiting any further shipments of those two. I cannot say that I am surprised that they are selling out-and I can absolutely recommend them: They completely look like custom dolls and they come with a huge amount of stock pieces out of the highest quality! I named my Cassie ‘Hermione’ after my grandmother and Hermione Granger and my Callie is called ‘Audrey’ after my favorite actress Audrey Hepburn. 🙂

Pullip Mayu in her gingerbread dress!Pullip Mayu in panda clothes!Mayu is wearing her festive dress from Mota de Algodón and looks absolutely enchanting! A few weeks ago, I was sceptical, whether Christmas-themed doll clothing would be ‘worth’ it, but after shopping around a bit, I have to say that it makes me super happy to see cuties like Mayu being enamored in their golden colored gingerbread dresses. Could you tell that the  dress she is wearing, is actually made for Blythes?! It has such a nice fit on Mayu’s 27cm obitsu! I am so happy and cannot wait to show you some more of her in the next week! My goal for Mayu is to completely dress her up in kawaii clothes in the future. I think, it was the first step to turn her into a little panda girl, but in the future, she is going to be even more colorful than the rainbow. Wish me luck! 😉 Continue reading My Dolly Week #43: A New Batch of Twins!

My Dolly Week #40: 2018 Will Be As Sweet As Pullip Cinnamoroll!

Pullip CinnamorollAs if last week, was not exciting enough for Pullip fans like me, the latest Pullip announcement was made yesterday for Pullip Cinnamoroll! Yes, my favorite Sanrio character will be the inspiration for my favorite doll! I am so happy and excited that the promotional images of her do not disappoint at all and that Cinamoroll’s 15th birthday will get even more special!

My Pullip Ruri from Poison GirlI am in full Christmas preparations in my house because I would like to make a dolly advent calender and post a picture every day on my Instagram. After six posts, I will share them on here in a combined post with additional informations and thoughts about my dolls. I want it to be casual doll fun, since the holidays can be a quite stressful time for many people. I am already planning lots of cute pictures and will also share some new dollies with you! It is probably needless to say that Ruri and Mayu will make several appearances. There are still some things I have to get in the mail first, but it should all work out!

My Pullip Mayu from Poison GirlMy Pullip Ruri from Poison GirlIn the meantime, my first two Poison Girls are wearing the cutest animal inspired outfits. Petit Creayations has the sweetest kitty fabrics, I have ever seen and combines them with playful designs. To say that I am in love with Ruri’s ensemble, is quite an understatement. Even her accessories are kitty-themed, her pink hat is from Juja Shop and her ballet flats and tights are from Hello Cool Cat. While Ruri is looking quite catty, her sister Mayu has transformed into a cute panda bear with a shirt and skirt from Cositas de Nenitas. Being a panda suits her so well in my opinion! The whole outfit compliments her hair and make up very nicely. When it comes to Mayu, I want to style her hair more fairy kei in the future and that is why I added the ice cream clip from Junie Moon. My Dolly Week #37: Seeing Red!

Welcome to another Dolly Week! I hope that everyone is having a lovely time, even though Halloween is over! 😉 I was a bit sad at first because the time for scary and cute decorations is over, but now I am free to plan Komonogatari‘s first Christmas, which will be equally exciting for me and my dolls. So please stay excited and let’s start!

Mayu, Rise and Ruri from Poison GirlSome things in life do not change. They still feel like the first time and leave you completely in awe with your happiness not wearing of whatsoever. This is how I feel about my dolls from María, the artist behind Poison Girl’s Dolls. Two days ago the most precious and prettiest (not to mention earliest) Christmas gift ever showed up on my door step: A little redhead called Rise, who is my warm and toasty doll family addition for the cold season. I am planning to dedicate a blog post to her next Thursday and in the meantime I could not help myself, but take pictures of her next to Mayu and Ruri.

Mayu, Rise and Ruri from Poison GirlAren’t those three the cutest?! María was so lovely to include some goodies into the package, of which these lovely Chip’n’Dale dolls were part of! They are part of the Ufufy series, which is finally available in European Disney stores! Great news, especially for doll fans, since their sizes vary from the Japanese ones. We finally have doll-sized Disney plushies available! I am so happy and a big thank you to María for the wonderful presents! <3

Mayu, Rise and Ruri from Poison GirlWhen looking at those three, I believe that Mayu is the oldest sister, while Ruri is a very responsible middle child and Rise is the little sister. While Mayu likes to space out after photoshoots, Ruri seems to be saying: ‘Oh, no! Why are Chip’n’Dale already tumbling down…we just got them!’. 😀 You can see all of María’s beautiful photographs of Rise in her blog’s gallery! Continue reading My Dolly Week #37: Seeing Red!

My Dolly Week #36: My Week of Utena!

Happy Sunday, everybody! Halloween is so close! Only two days of October are left and it is going to be quite hard for me to let go of everything spooky…although to be completely honest, my dollies do not actually qualify as scary! 😉

Mayu & Ruri looking for candy!Mayu in her Halloween costume!Mayu and Ruri are trying hard to get their hands on the biggest amount of Halloween candy they can find. If they succeed, will be revealed on October 31st on my Instagram! 😀 I also already heard them talking about their costumes for next year. So we might have to keep that in mind for our future purchases. >< Sometimes I feel like they absolutely have me wrapped around their tiny plastic fingers!

Pullip Utena TenjoA really lovely costume would be one of the upcoming Revolutionary Girl Utena outfits sets, which I am still not done hyping about. This week more than ever because I actually watched all 39 episodes of the anime in the last seven days. It helped that there were quite a lot of recap episodes and many scenes were repetitive, which is nothing new for the Magical Girl genre. You might have guessed that I got very emotionally involved in it and am now looking forward to the upcoming Utena Pullip even more. Anthy is kind of making me sad in the style she is coming in. I would have to customize her to remind me of a happier part of the story. Thankfully, my MVP is little monkey Chu Chu, who comes with Anthy’s school uniform – I have absolutely no debates, whether to get this set or not! 😀 Continue reading My Dolly Week #36: My Week of Utena!

My Dolly Week #34: Meet My Mouse Minnie!

Welcome to my 34th post of My Dolly Week, which signals the end of a rather strange week with lots of turbulences and weird feelings. Why weird feelings?! I have been in the dolly hobby now for a little bit over a year. There are so many things, I still know nothing about and am still learning each week. Sometimes this leads to mistakes on my part, which feel just terrible and I can only count myself lucky that I have found some super lovely people, who still have my back and support me.

Pullip Iris MintOn a lighter note, this little girl above has been cheering me up with her colorful and soothing nature. Her official name is Iris Mint and she is a full custom by Charon Dolls, whose custom Pullips are simply delightful! My nickname for Iris Mint is Minnie, which I think suits her sweet face perfectly. I want to dedicate a whole post to her in the upcoming days, so please stay tuned. 😉

Cute Mayu is here to help!As a fact, Minnie and Mayu have been my little helpers for a spooky project, I have been working on lately. It will hopefully be cute and fun. If everything turns out the way I want it to, I will be able to announce it next week! During preparations I was re-organizing my whole Pullip collection, which I should have known before, was a total mess! >< And speaking of even messier things: My face-up skills are so bad! I am by no means getting discouraged, but right now I am basically ‘creating’ a face-up, while testing out the materials, and afterwards immediately remove it. I have read on several blogs that you have to have a lot of practice and patience before getting any better. Maybe one day in the future, I will be able to share a face-up as a creative product of mine next to photography and writing, but until then I could not justify shocking you with my try-outs. 😉 Continue reading My Dolly Week #34: Meet My Mouse Minnie!

More Perfect Gashapon For Your Dolls!

Are you ready for more gashapon that are perfect for your dolls and for your (in my case imaginary) doll house?! Then let’s begin right away! 😉

Camera Keyrings

Charlotte with an oldschool camera.Back of gashapon camera.Gashapon cameras.Gashapon Cameras.I was so happy, when I found these! These keyrings (the actual keyrings can be super easily removed) came in two different designs with tons of different color variations. The first design imitates an oldschool camera, which looks pretty cool. But I had to play three times until I got the modern looking DSLR, which I really wanted for my dolls to have. Both kinds light up by pressing a button in accordance with a super fake sounding shutter noise. From my experience, I only saw this machine once and it sold out pretty quickly. Also the sound and light effect is already broken on one camera and pretty weak on another, which let’s me guess that they are pretty old. So get on it as long as you still can!
