How To Change Rubber Pullip Eyechips (on Pullip Summer Purezza)

This is going to be a quick post, since I already went super into detail in my previous post about changing plastic eyechips on Pullips. Click here to read the full article!

Pullip Summer Purezza before and after her customization.Instead of having to break the eyechips out of the eye mechanism’s sockets, you will have to cut them out with an exacto knife. I did not want to take any pictures of this process, since it was pretty gnarly looking. My recommendation would be, to cut directly into the middle of the rubber eyechips and to pull the pieces of rubber out of the sockets with your hands. In contrast to plastic eyechips, rubber eyechips are not reusable. The most delicate step is to make sure that no residue of the eyechips stays behind in the sockets, which you might need to again use your exacto knife for. It is important to be careful not to scratch the white plastic of the eye-mechanism in the process. The rest is pretty much a piece of cake!

I hope this short piece helped and thank you so much for reading!

My Dolly Week #40: 2018 Will Be As Sweet As Pullip Cinnamoroll!

Pullip CinnamorollAs if last week, was not exciting enough for Pullip fans like me, the latest Pullip announcement was made yesterday for Pullip Cinnamoroll! Yes, my favorite Sanrio character will be the inspiration for my favorite doll! I am so happy and excited that the promotional images of her do not disappoint at all and that Cinamoroll’s 15th birthday will get even more special!

My Pullip Ruri from Poison GirlI am in full Christmas preparations in my house because I would like to make a dolly advent calender and post a picture every day on my Instagram. After six posts, I will share them on here in a combined post with additional informations and thoughts about my dolls. I want it to be casual doll fun, since the holidays can be a quite stressful time for many people. I am already planning lots of cute pictures and will also share some new dollies with you! It is probably needless to say that Ruri and Mayu will make several appearances. There are still some things I have to get in the mail first, but it should all work out!

My Pullip Mayu from Poison GirlMy Pullip Ruri from Poison GirlIn the meantime, my first two Poison Girls are wearing the cutest animal inspired outfits. Petit Creayations has the sweetest kitty fabrics, I have ever seen and combines them with playful designs. To say that I am in love with Ruri’s ensemble, is quite an understatement. Even her accessories are kitty-themed, her pink hat is from Juja Shop and her ballet flats and tights are from Hello Cool Cat. While Ruri is looking quite catty, her sister Mayu has transformed into a cute panda bear with a shirt and skirt from Cositas de Nenitas. Being a panda suits her so well in my opinion! The whole outfit compliments her hair and make up very nicely. When it comes to Mayu, I want to style her hair more fairy kei in the future and that is why I added the ice cream clip from Junie Moon. My Dolly Week #39: Groove is Back on Track with Pullip Nanette Erica Ver., Pullip Himawari and Pullip Eileen for Spring 2018!

Welcome to an amazing Dolly Week! As many of you might know, I finally started collecting Pullips in 2016, which was a year full of several amazing releases per month. Since I am writing this blog, Pullip releases have been a rare thing and to say that I was worried, is an understatement. My thoughts were pretty much that I might have started, when it was all coming to an end. But today, I finally have great news about upcoming releases, which I am excited about and immediately started budgeting for.

Elise, my Classical AliceElise, my Classical AliceBefore talking about them though, I spent my week customizing and styling my dolls. Elise, my Pullip Classical Alice, I already had customized before, but desperately needed new lashes. From some angles, her expression looked off because her stock lashes looked so thin with her new sparkling mint eyechips. I am much happier with her now and it seems like Elise is too! The more you customize your dolls, the more your skills grow and the more you will know, how you like to style your dolls. In these pictures, she met deer Gustav for the first time, who recently moved in, when I was browsing for dolly sized Christmas stuff!

Poppy, my Summer PurezzaPoppy, my Summer PurezzaThe girl, who needed most of my attention, was Poppy, my Summer Purezza. Her early type-3 body was so floppy that I hated myself, but could not prevent myself from calling her ‘Floppy Poppy’ in my mind. Look, who is now looking like an absolute queen with her new obitsu body! Floppy Poppy, no more! She also got new eyechips, new lashes and a new wig. Her look is now very grown-up and I am so grateful that everything went well! I am going to write up a quick post about changing rubber eyechips. Doing things for the first time is scary, but so educational at the same time! Review: Pullip Summer Purezza (2005)

Pullip Summer PurezzaThere have been a few different releases of Pullip Purezza in Pullip history. There was Winter Purezza, Spring Purezza, Fall Purezza and finally Brand New Purezza, next to my baby that I want to show you today: Summer Purezza from 2005, who was released from Jun Planning on an early type-3 body. She was limited to 500 dolls. I found her last September in Japan and really fell in love with her clean face up and cute expression. Early Pullips have their own charm about them, even though they do will come with some flaws due to their age, which I will also discuss in this review. My Dolly Week #38: Dolly Denim and Obitsus!

Welcome to another Dolly Week on my blog! This week has been super duper interesting, when it comes to new releases, but I also finally started some projects to rebody  my older Pullip girls, since I brought home four obitsus in total from Japan.

Natalia, my Pullip BlancheThe first girl I rebodied was Natalia, my Pullip Blanche. Although I do not massively hate the Pullip type-3 bodies, they do tend to make your Pullips quite stiff looking and do not allow them to pose properly. Especially the type-3 neck was bugging me, since it looks way too unnatural. Natalia always seemed to stick her head way forward in comparison to her type-4 and obitsu bodied sisters. I plan to do a more detailed post about my girls’ different body types, but for Natalia I decided on a flesh toned 27 cm obitsu, since I went for the same height as Mayu and Ruri, which I had misjudged in the past as 24cm tall. In the future, I do plan to get some of the new 24cm obitsus, but since my type-3 girls seem more grown-up anyway, they are all going to be taller than that. May I just say that I love Natalia’s new look?! I also dressed her up in the coolest dolly ensemble from Atelier Milabrocc ever! Those perfect embroidered and distressed Mom jeans are going to be a staple in my dolly wardrobe for years!

Minnie, Iris Mint by Charon DollsMinnie, Iris Mint by Charon DollsSpeaking of denim from Atelier Milabrocc, before she released the set with the jeans and the equally stylish sweater, she made the most adorable shorts in the same style. My Pullip wardrobe is full of dresses and skirts, lilacs and pinks, which I both wanted to mix up a bit (nevermind, the pink embroideries on the denim…they don’t count!). Minnie, my Charon Dolls’ custom Pullip, was the first one to try on those glorious shorts in combination with a cropped lilac knit sweater-from Atelier Milabrocc as well. Can you tell that I like her work?! 😀 Minnie looks a bit rockabilly and like a cool pastel chick in general. I am super pleased-she needs to wear the most out of this outfit before it gets too cold! Meet Rise by Poison Girl’s Dolls!

Rise from Poison GirlThere once was a girl with cherry red hair, who looks like a tiny button. A tiny red button, of course! Her favorite time of the year was winter, since she brought warmth, wherever she went and in 2017 I was lucky enough that she decided to come and stay with me forever! My Dolly Week #37: Seeing Red!

Welcome to another Dolly Week! I hope that everyone is having a lovely time, even though Halloween is over! 😉 I was a bit sad at first because the time for scary and cute decorations is over, but now I am free to plan Komonogatari‘s first Christmas, which will be equally exciting for me and my dolls. So please stay excited and let’s start!

Mayu, Rise and Ruri from Poison GirlSome things in life do not change. They still feel like the first time and leave you completely in awe with your happiness not wearing of whatsoever. This is how I feel about my dolls from María, the artist behind Poison Girl’s Dolls. Two days ago the most precious and prettiest (not to mention earliest) Christmas gift ever showed up on my door step: A little redhead called Rise, who is my warm and toasty doll family addition for the cold season. I am planning to dedicate a blog post to her next Thursday and in the meantime I could not help myself, but take pictures of her next to Mayu and Ruri.

Mayu, Rise and Ruri from Poison GirlAren’t those three the cutest?! María was so lovely to include some goodies into the package, of which these lovely Chip’n’Dale dolls were part of! They are part of the Ufufy series, which is finally available in European Disney stores! Great news, especially for doll fans, since their sizes vary from the Japanese ones. We finally have doll-sized Disney plushies available! I am so happy and a big thank you to María for the wonderful presents! <3

Mayu, Rise and Ruri from Poison GirlWhen looking at those three, I believe that Mayu is the oldest sister, while Ruri is a very responsible middle child and Rise is the little sister. While Mayu likes to space out after photoshoots, Ruri seems to be saying: ‘Oh, no! Why are Chip’n’Dale already tumbling down…we just got them!’. 😀 You can see all of María’s beautiful photographs of Rise in her blog’s gallery! Continue reading My Dolly Week #37: Seeing Red!

Review: Pullip Princess Serenity (2014)

Pullip Princess SerenityIf you are a fan of Sailor Moon or a silly schoolgirl with a heart of gold called Usagi Tsukino, you are probably going to have a hard time choosing your favorite Pullip version of this beloved character. So far there have been four Pullip doll releases: Sailor Moon, Super Sailor Moon, Eternal Sailor Moon and Princess Serenity from 2015, who today’s review is all about. Even though I am a big Sailor Moon fan, collecting the various releases proved to be quite a difficult task for me, since most dolls come with little stock and higher prices. While I do intend to get Pullip Eternal Sailor Moon in the near future, Princess Serenity’s stock is so beautiful and her face up has such nice details that I could not get her out of my head and she ended up being the second addition from the Sailor Moon series after Sailor Neptune in my collection! Continue reading Review: Pullip Princess Serenity (2014)

My Dolly Week #36: My Week of Utena!

Happy Sunday, everybody! Halloween is so close! Only two days of October are left and it is going to be quite hard for me to let go of everything spooky…although to be completely honest, my dollies do not actually qualify as scary! 😉

Mayu & Ruri looking for candy!Mayu in her Halloween costume!Mayu and Ruri are trying hard to get their hands on the biggest amount of Halloween candy they can find. If they succeed, will be revealed on October 31st on my Instagram! 😀 I also already heard them talking about their costumes for next year. So we might have to keep that in mind for our future purchases. >< Sometimes I feel like they absolutely have me wrapped around their tiny plastic fingers!

Pullip Utena TenjoA really lovely costume would be one of the upcoming Revolutionary Girl Utena outfits sets, which I am still not done hyping about. This week more than ever because I actually watched all 39 episodes of the anime in the last seven days. It helped that there were quite a lot of recap episodes and many scenes were repetitive, which is nothing new for the Magical Girl genre. You might have guessed that I got very emotionally involved in it and am now looking forward to the upcoming Utena Pullip even more. Anthy is kind of making me sad in the style she is coming in. I would have to customize her to remind me of a happier part of the story. Thankfully, my MVP is little monkey Chu Chu, who comes with Anthy’s school uniform – I have absolutely no debates, whether to get this set or not! 😀 Continue reading My Dolly Week #36: My Week of Utena!

Review: Pullip Outfit Selection Valletta Set

Outfit Selection Valletta SetI have never been to Valletta myself, but at least I get to show you Groove Inc.’s Valletta set from their Outfit Selection line. My model for this post is Felicia my Pullip Optical Alice, whose complexion looks beautiful in dark navy and red. The main optic of this set is a preppy school uniform that fits a Pullip’s type-4 body like a glove. It includes a headband, a blazer, a blouse, a skirt, kneesocks and shoes. Basically, everything you need for a cute look to play with! Continue reading Review: Pullip Outfit Selection Valletta Set
