It’s Been A Year: Komonogatari’s First Blogiversary!

Exactly one year ago, my review of Pullip Optical Alice, who I got one day prior brand new from Japan, went online. She was the perfect reason to finally create a blog, an idea, which had been dancing in my head for months and went in lieu with dozens hours of brainstorming because I did not want to start under a blog name or social media handles, which I would have want to change after a short while. And there was one more thing: I was scared! Scared of my own writing and photographing skills and even more scared of not finding anybody to share my passions with! Today I consider February 23rd, 2017 as one of the best days of my life because it was the start of me, putting myself out there. I am a strong believer that the more open I am about my passions and feelings here, the more I hope to deliver the message that it is okay to be passionate about the things you are passionate about!

So many cuties! Continue reading It’s Been A Year: Komonogatari’s First Blogiversary!

Meet Sencha by Nina’s Dolls!

Pullip Sencha was a wonderful way to start the new year and is my first Pullip addition of 2018. She was created by extremely talented Nina from Nina’s Dolls, who has her own distinctive style, which I have been admiring for a while, when looking at her dolls owned by lucky fellow collectors. She does not take commissions at the moment, but I highly recommend a visit to her Facebook page or Instagram to keep an eye out for future customs and to admire all of her many different creations!

50 ‘My Dolly Weeks’!!! Let’s Celebrate!

Welcome to the 50th Sunday post; it’s so nice to see you again! 🙂 Very fitting for the occasion, we have tons of doll news and I honestly could not imagine a better start into February! Last week had some really lovely and springy days, which inspired me to take this picture of my Spring Goddess Sencha. Her headdress was also made by It’s MY Caprice and I love how it matches her dress. Let’s hope that Sencha will bring us an early spring this year!

Sencha by Nina's DollsFirst of all: Last Sunday after publishing last week’s post, I went on Pullip Style only to find out that Pullip Cinnamoroll and Pullip Himawari‘s pre-orders had opened! After a short state of shock, both jumped into my shopping cart! They are supposed to be in stock at the end of April, which probably means that they will be home at the beginning of May. The wait will feel endless, but everybody knows that patience is key in this hobby. It feels really weird to have a Pullip on pre-order; my last one was Pullip Lupinus about one year ago. I am honestly having trouble to hide my excitement; there are so many things I love about both of them: Especially Cinnamoroll’s eyechips, her plushy, obviously, and Himawari’s orange toned make-up including her smiley expression! Redecorating For Dolls: Miniature Luxury!

That’s right, I have taken another step towards my dream dollhouse, which we still don’t have enough space for! In the meantime, it cannot hurt to collect some very super special pieces for the future! It all started with Kathia’s picture on Instagram and immediate admiration for sssDollFurniture‘s doll sized furniture creations. They are totally fit for princesses, being made with so much craftsmanship and love for detail. When I opened my mail the other day, I could not believe my eyes to see something that was even prettier in real life than in the pictures on Etsy!

Review: Pullip Dilettante (2014)

Pullip DilettantePullip Dilettante was one of the first Pullips that I discovered online and instantly loved. There is something about this girl, released in early 2014, which left me fascinated. Her concept is  being a hard-working business girl in the big city, therefore her stock is quite unusual for a Pullip, being extremely chic business attire. I love otherworldly concepts, but sometimes it’s nice to have a selection of clothes that are more realistic in an adults day to day life, while still being super fancy. In her official description it does not say, how much her name ‘Dilettante’ actually refers to her character, but the way this girl is wearing her make-up and is dressing up, doesn’t scream dilettante to me! 😉

Komonogatari’s 2017 Review!

I always feel weird, when there is no proper review before or right after a new year begins. This blog will turn one year old at the end of February, which marks 2017 as its most important year, since starting new things is always the biggest step to take. Many wonderful things happened this year and I am happy to share them with you!

Luise, my Pullip LupinusPullip Customizing

One year ago I did not have any clue about customizing my Pullips. Changing eyechips was a terrifying thought and I did not get the appeal of re-wigging, even though I detected some quality issues with certain stock wigs. I did however start to change them out of their stock clothes, mainly because I wanted my Pullip Sailor Neptune not to be battle ready all of the time and to be able to relax with the other girls. (Imagine all of your dolls wearing long lolita-type dresses and then there is Sailor Neptune right next to them in a mini skirt and bare legs.) As soon as I had discovered Etsy, a new world opened up with that many creators of doll clothes and accessories around the world, there are truly limitless possibilities to get creative!

Happy New Year! Let’s Look At Dolly News! (MDW #45)

Good evening, everybody! We have less than four hours of 2017 left and I would like to take some time to talk mainly about new releases or dolly updates, since I had so little time to do that during the holidays! I might sound like a broken record, but December just flew by so quickly! All in all, 2017 was a wonderful year! It was the year I got married to the love of my life and my best friend, who reads every blog post, even though he does not collect dolls himself. Furthermore, the fact that I started this blog in late February and Instagram about one month later, which made it possible for me to meet so many lovely people and be lucky enough to befriend some of them, brings tears to my eyes! Thank you so much for your support! I cannot wait to have many more conversations in 2018! Thanks to you, it was one of the best years of my life!

Hattie is a sweet lolita! One year ago I had no idea, how to customize a Pullip and Hattie, Alice du Jardin Mint, probably had no idea either that she would go through a lot of changes, until I would be 100% happy with her look! The reason, why I chose Hattie to specifically photograph for today, is the fact that she was my first Pullip that I ever got. She moved in at the end of September 2016 and is now my perfect sweet lolita with sparkling pink eyechips from Lullaby For Dolls, a blonde Leeke wig, new fluttery lashes (I get them for a few bucks from Amazon) and the perfect dress from Sugar Lattice! My Dolly Week #44: Christmas Festivities and Their Consequences!

Welcome to the 44th Dolly Week and let me tell you: Celebrating with my family and all of my dolls swallowed all of my energy! I am still recovering. Especially my dolls look like the sweetest cuties, but they are such party animals in real life! I am a bit afraid of what New Year’s Eve will look like! Yikes! 😀 Furthermore, I am working through the holidays this year and I was so tired yesterday that I completely overslept. Thankfully, I did not get up to late, but you can imagine that I am not the best version of myself right now! >< But(!): I am SO excited to make more dolly content! It is a bit weird to me that I am not uploading daily anymore on my Instagram, but I still have some pictures up my sleeve and want to do a nice photoshoot for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day!

My Poison Girls Mayu, Rise & RuriOn Christmas Eve I wanted to share this picture of my Poison Girl cuties, who are wearing some of my favorite outfits and Mayu and Ruri are carrying Christmas handbags from La Prinfresa. I simply love Rudolph and the little Christmas tree. Their quality is out of this world and the details are simply so nice! I will use them every year from now on and I also saw online that they look so nice as ornaments on dolly sized trees! If that does not sound like a good investment, I truly do not know, what is! 😉 Continue reading My Dolly Week #44: Christmas Festivities and Their Consequences!

My Dolly Week #42: Taking a Breather (but not without Dolls)!

Welcome to another My Dolly Week post, which I normally post on Sundays, but let me tell you: Last week I was so not up for it! I had no problem keeping up with my advent calendar, but for blogging it just didn’t seem right. i just couldn’t do it and felt bad all throughout the week. And for no particular reason either, but having times like these is only natural, I guess. One thing I did do, was organizing my doll collection and planning some customizations. I am also still learning how to paint face ups. I am improving, but am not ready to share them yet. I absolutely love the mocha kits, the complexion looks so beautiful, and I cannot wait to be content enough with my skills to add a mocha Pullip to my collection!

Rise by Poison Girl's Dolls in her Snow White dress.Coming back to my advent calendar, something I was saving for weeks, was Rise’s Snow White dress from It’s My Caprice. I am getting repetitive, when it comes to my admiration for Michelle’s work, but her dresses are little pieces of art, which I could never get tired of. The fact that she was able to interpret Snow White’s classical dress from the Disney movie into a more luxurious version, makes my heart sing everytime I look at Rise and her cute little face. I love the white collar out of lace so much and every detail on the hemline. Can you tell, how happy I am! >< I sure am a fangirl for everything Pullip and Pullip fashion! There will be more pictures with ‘Snow White with the Red Hair’ because fairytale motives make me happy! 😀 Continue reading My Dolly Week #42: Taking a Breather (but not without Dolls)!

My Dolly Week #41: Suzume & My Advent Calendar!

Welcome to another Sunday post, the first Sunday post in December, which means Christmas is just around the corner! Are you as excited about it as I am?! Let’s get started!

Pullip Suzume, Face Up by MikiyochiiWelcome Suzume, my little addition to my Pullip family. Her face up was done by Mikiyochii and I had lots of fun putting the rest of her look together. I will write a whole post about her, since she absolutely deserves it, but my idea was a cute mori girl with gold and green eye make up and reddish brown tones. Suzume can also be abbreviated to Suzy, which only makes her cuter in my opinion. 😉

Charlotte, my Pullip MyraThe reason, why this December feels extra special to me, is the advent calendar consisting out of Pullip photographs I am doing this year. Including the close up of Suzume’s face today on Instagram, so far Charlotte, Minka and Felicia had an appearance in their festive outfits. I decided to talk more about my pictures on Sundays, since I can freely ramble around without having a bad conscience. Charlotte (Pullip Myra) is wearing a new outfit from It’s My Caprice, consisting out of a flowy top and cute puffy trousers. I got it almost a month ago, when I started planning my pictures. In the same train of thought, I should mention that doing things like an advent calendar, is so time demanding that I had a hard time to get any writing done. On the plus side, I have only three to four pictures to shoot left, so new blog posts should resume soon! 😀 Continue reading My Dolly Week #41: Suzume & My Advent Calendar!
